Shelbyville, TN (June 11) - - Tyler Landers will return to sole-car ownership Thursday night in the Lucas Oil Series sanctioned Super Late Model event at Duck River Speedway as he recently bought a Rocket-chassised car used by the Landers/Tucker combined team in 2007 from RJ Tucker.

The solid yellow Star 12 will be equipped with a Custom Race Engine powerplant for the Lucas Oil Event as well as for use in competition throughout the remainder of the season with new 2008 sponsorship from Preferred Sandblasting. A just freshened Brown Engineering Spec Engine is also ready for use as needed.

The unexpected change in team came from an ending of the Landers/Bobby Turnbow Enterprises team in which Tyler drove Turnbow's GRT by Skip Arp with Tyler's Brown Engineering motor to four feature wins this season. A simple disagreement of when/where to race ended the potent combination. Tyler extends his utmost thanks to Bobby Turnbow Enterprises, Skip Arp and all the sponsor associated with the effort. In evaluating his current situation, Tyler felt it best to return to owning his own equipment to better serve not only his own schedule but that of sponsors and allow a more controlling interest in his own fate- be it finding victory lane or just having fun enjoying the competition of fellow racers on the track.

STAR TWELVE MOTORSPORTS CELEBRATES FIRST WIN OF '08...

Wheel, TN (Sat. April 19) - Tyler Landers followed Daniel Miller for two laps Saturday night at Duck River Speedway before challenging for a lead he would not relinquish thru several caution flags and a spun car sitting at the start finish stripe at the checkers to collect his first win of the 2008 season and his first for the GRT by Skip Arp chassised Super Late Model with a Brown Engineering Spec Engine powerplant.

Qualifying and starting third, Tyler quickly dove to the inside of last week's winner Miller and powered his way around the fellow GRT driver and then spent the remainder of the event holding an inside strategy that kept Miller behind in a battle with veterans Jimmy Nowlin and Jeff Walker.

For Tyler and the Star Twelve Motorsports team it was a well needed win after their first outing netted a third behind David Earl Gentry and Miller in the season opener at Duck River Speedway and an under caution wreck when he was squeeze in to the wall two weeks ago.

Tyler and the Star 12 Motorsports team  are proud to be associated  with these supporters (note: Due to recent change in ownership some information to be completed)

title_ad_1.jpg (83120 bytes)Yes that was Tyler... in the 2007 Miranda Lambert County Music Video "Famous in a Small Town". Filmed at Landers Quality Recappers in Shelbyville, Tyler can  be seen in the video related to Miranda's CD "Crazy Ex Girlfriend".

Racer Tyler Landers wasn't sure what was going on recently when a caravan of trucks, trailers and campers pulled in to Landers Quality Recappers just a few blocks from downtown Shelbyville. But as cameras and equipment started being unloaded, Landers' realized it was a filming crew who a few weeks prior stopped by to ask if they could use the back of the long standing Landers business for some filming they was going to do around Shelbyville for a day.

Going about the daily business of work, Landers' smile caught the passing eye of the director who was arranging shots and approached Landers about taking part in the video filming. Rolling a tire across the floor and turning to flash his smile at the camera, Landers now finds himself one of several "Famous in a Small Town" cameos in country music artist Miranda Lambert's latest video.
